Chess
I started playing/studying chess in the late 2021. Currently I am an intermediate player (1800 peak in rapid) trying constantly to improve. A little more on where the motivation came from, after watching a famous Youtube programming tutor (Derek Banas) starting to learn chess while livestreaming and having spent some more of my personal time on other professional chess streamers the love and appreciation towards the game grew fast where it finally became the main hobbie in terms of games (having a significant apreciation for games since I was young). The inner battle for improvement in chess is never easy, sometimes it can have a psychological effect but overall the calculations and tactics needed to strike higher are evolving through time realizing that it isn't simply a game but instead something that can have a generic effect to someone in multiple differect aspects (calculation/psychological/patience wise).
Piano
I started studying piano theory in 2024. The initial state was learning how to read notes in a pentagram and slowly transitioning to the basic techniques used. Eventually I decided to invest into it as a hobby by buying my first piano! The experience was instantly captivating which made me realize that it was the right choice. The learning will be long and surely with a lot to overcoming in this learning process but I believe that with each hour that passes while working on this journey new achievements are accomplished making the end-goal become closer to being a reality than simply a dream. If I am able to achieve the main goal that I have which is being able in the near future to perform on intermediate-level tracks, the final goal would be to achieve something new, empowered by my personal inner reflection of how i see and feel the music that has been built through all these years, and using it to try to -create/compose- something new. (Ideally I would love to explore other instruments (violin, drums, electric guitar) but the time is always limited of course.)
Sailing
I was introduced to sailing from my mother as it is one of her dreams, having a sailboat to sail accross the Mediterranean sea. Starting to learn more about it while attending to lessons and researching for extra information in order to become a licensed Skipper, I realised that there is a state of purity, a cleansing of mind from any thoughts other than controlling the boat in optimal aerodynamic position when one sails. The feeling of the wind when you travel, the waves that are being slit at the edges of the sailboat, the aura of the sea that sometimes is centimeters away from you, the adrenaline when weather is testing you, are all things that enchanted me and made me appreciate sailing. In it you can find a deep connection with nature, returning to a more natural way of living where no longer do -the every day things- matter.
Music
I am a non - stopping searcher of music since I was a kid. I find joy discovering new albums and genres. From Classical to Metal and from Jazz to Post Rock, each genre has a special place for different occasions.
Movies
I would consider myself a cinefil. I enjoy watching movies like the ones created by Tarkovsky, Korean or European directors and some special ones from Holywood. All those wonderful pieces of art that were created to share a special feel, a different way of thinking, movies that can grow a charachter.
Writing
Recently I experienced a need to start writing Pieces of connected words to express my inner thoughts, ideas and imagination. It`s a creative and liberative habit.
Books
Books can be the root for new art, personal growth and new ideas. They are series of deep thoughts and feelings passed by an author through his/her hard work towards the readers of the book. They share unique stories or a different aspect of them. They are a way of never-ending learning for people`s lives. Unfortunately a lot more time is required to read all the books that exist in my list.
Travelling
As everyone I like visiting new places and I try to do it as much as I can. There is something wonderful about exploring something unknown, seeing different cultures, unique lands and architecture helps one to widen his way of thinking and brings back the feeling of freedom that some times may fade in our modern lives.
